Promoting the key reasons to own a Wii was a fundamental part of the redesign.

Wii Site Redesign
Corporate Flagship Site

In Holiday 2011, the Wii console turned 5 years old. In turn, that meant that the website was essentially 5 years old too, with years of updates piled on top. As anyone who creates a website can attest, it’s easier to just add on new things, rather then start over. That’s where I came in.

After 5 years of the best selling console being on the market, and a price reduction to boot, there was a different type of consumer looking for a console then had been originally targeted. This required a reinvention of the entire Nintendo.com/Wii section, which was a balancing act of keeping all existing relevant info, meticulous organization, and adding a fresh coat of paint. While promoting key services such as Netflix, and classic best sellers throughout the site, we really drove home the value message to older, non-tech savvy consumers. I also mandated that we add a quick and easy to use FAQ section to clear up the most asked foresee questions (via data research) on the old site, which you can see persistently throughout. The end result? A five point increase in our foresee score and overall happier consumers within the first 6 months.
